STEWED CORN  

1 cup (5 oz) Toasted Dried Sweet Corn
3 cups water, boiling
2 tsp sugar
salt and butter to taste
½ cup milk or cream

 


To one cup (5 oz) dried corn, add 3 cups boiling water and soak 2 hours or longer. Add 2 tsp sugar, salt and butter to taste and let simmer ½ hour or longer. Add ½ cup milk or cream. Cook 5 minutes. Serves 4 to 5.
***Microwave: Place contents of package (7.5 oz), 2 cups water, ¼ tsp salt (optional), 2 Tbsp butter or margarine, 3 tsp sugar, 1 cup milk in a 2 qt casserole and mix thoroughly. Cover with wax paper and cook in microwave on full power for 10 mins. Stir and let stand 15 mins. Complete cooking for 15 mins on full power. Optional: To add color and flavor add ½ cup diced red or green peppers.
